Reports To: EVP of ITAD

Location: On-site Chantilly preferred; hybrid/remote considered for highly experienced candidates with an established industry network
Compensation: $100,000–$120,000 base salary, plus tiered commission

Position Summary

This is not a traditional corporate IT procurement role.

Securis is seeking an experienced secondary-market IT asset buyer who knows how to find, value, negotiate, and acquire used and surplus enterprise technology for resale and remarketing. You will source bulk IT asset opportunities from VARs, leasing companies, ITAD providers, brokers, OEM/channel partners, and enterprise organizations, evaluating each opportunity based on configuration, condition, market demand, resale value, margin, and inventory velocity.

We are looking for someone who already understands the secondary IT hardware market, has an established industry network, and can independently generate deal flow. This person will own the acquisition lifecycle, from identifying and developing opportunities through valuation, negotiation, purchase, and handoff to Securis' ITAD and remarketing teams. This role will be instrumental in helping Securis scale its IT asset acquisition business toward $5M–$10M+ in annual purchases.

What You Will Do:

Revenue and Acquisition Ownership 

• Own and execute a sourcing strategy to drive $5M–$10M+ annually in used and surplus IT asset acquisitions for resale and remarketing
• Significantly scale acquisition volume, with a focus on high-demand laptops, desktops, servers, networking equipment, and other enterprise technology
• Proactively identify and source high-value specialized and niche electronics beyond standard PC and server hardware
• Take full accountability for sourcing performance, deal flow, acquisition volume, and revenue contribution

Deal Origination

• Independently identify and win bulk used and surplus IT asset opportunities from enterprise organizations, VARs, leasing companies, ITAD providers, brokers, and other secondary-market sources
• Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of high-quality acquisition opportunities
• Actively prospect, network, and generate new deal flow rather than relying primarily on inbound opportunities
• Develop repeatable sourcing channels capable of significantly increasing Securis's acquisition volume

Deal Execution

• Lead negotiations and structure purchase, consignment, and other acquisition agreements
• Structure deals that optimize margin, inventory velocity, and resale potential
• Move with urgency to secure opportunities in time-sensitive, competitive situations while maintaining disciplined margin requirements

Market Intelligence & Valuation

• Analyze complex asset manifests and evaluate equipment based on configuration, generation, condition, grade, market demand, resale potential, and downstream value
• Determine Maximum Viable Bids (MVBs) using expected resale value, refurbishment costs, logistics, inventory velocity, margin targets, and downside risk
• Stay ahead of secondary-market pricing, supply, buyer demand, technology refresh cycles, and emerging asset categories

Relationship Management

• Leverage and expand an existing network of ITAD providers, VARs, leasing companies, brokers, enterprise asset owners, and other secondary-market partners
• Build long-term relationships that generate repeat acquisition opportunities and consistent deal flow
• Establish Securis as a trusted, responsive, high-performing buyer in the secondary IT hardware market

Collaboration & Market Presence

• Partner closely with ITAD Operations, Sales, and Remarketing teams to align acquisition decisions with real-time resale demand
• Participate in on-site asset evaluations and deal validation as needed
• Travel approximately 50% for supplier visits, partner meetings, asset evaluations, and industry events

What We Are Looking For:

Required

• 2+ years of direct experience personally sourcing and acquiring used or surplus IT hardware specifically for resale, remarketing, or secondary-market disposition
• Established relationships within the ITAD and secondary IT hardware ecosystem, including VARs, leasing companies, ITAD providers, brokers, resellers, or enterprise asset owners
• Demonstrated ability to independently originate sourcing opportunities, build pipeline, negotiate, and close used IT hardware transactions
• Strong understanding of secondary-market pricing, hardware grading, residual value, resale demand, and margin
• Experience evaluating IT asset opportunities and determining appropriate acquisition pricing based on expected resale value and deal economics
• Ability to work on-site in Chantilly, VA, or travel to our Chantilly location at least once per month

Important: This is not a traditional corporate IT procurement role. Experience purchasing new IT hardware, software, or services for an employer's internal use does not by itself meet the experience requirement for this position.

Preferred

• Experience sourcing laptops, desktops, servers, networking equipment, tablets, and other enterprise IT assets at scale
• Demonstrated experience personally sourcing and closing $1M+ annually in used or surplus IT hardware acquisitions
• Established network capable of generating acquisition opportunities
• Familiarity with ITAD processes, hardware grading, refurbishment, remarketing, and resale channels
• Experience evaluating large asset manifests and developing ROI-based Maximum Viable Bids (MVBs)
• Experience with purchase, consignment, or other secondary-market acquisition structures
